Great Adventure 2009 Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get involved?
Adults can host Backyard Bible Clubs, drive a team of students to their assigned clubs (morning and/or evening shifts are available for hosts and drivers), assist in Xtreme Adventure, run a booth at SummerFest or join a GO trip team. Students entering 8th grade and older can join a team serving in Backyard Bible Clubs and/or Xtreme Adventure.
Do I have to be a member of HCBC to serve?
No. Anyone who regularly attends HCBC can serve.
When is the deadline to sign up to serve? How do I sign up?
See our Registration page. Contact information for additional information is at the bottom of each page.
Who leads the Backyard Bible Clubs?
Students who have completed 7th — 12th grades lead the Backyard Bible Clubs. Each member of the team has attended Boot Camp, where teams are trained on the stories, skits, games, sharing the gospel, crowd control and much more.
Do I need to have a large vehicle to sign up as a Backyard Bible Club driver?
Vehicles must have at least four seatbelts, not including the driver's.
What happens if it rains... will Backyard Bible Clubs and or Summerfest still take place?
Backyard Bible Clubs take place rain or shine. If there is a thunderstorm, a club might be cancelled by the host for that day. There is not a rain date for SummerFest, but for 13 years, God has always held back the rain!
